I studied business entrepreneurship at Masaryk University in Brno with scholarship in Vienna before letting the wind blow in my sails. Since I have a crackling blend of independence and exploration, I tried all of the following professions (in order): tax advisor, author and publisher of cookbooks, writer, waitress, chef, journalist and photographer, and then tour guide.
As a tax advisor, it took me a couple of years before choosing a more alternative future. The result was a prestigious international award-winning Fired-Up Cookbooks series. After a hearty life experience, I followed the cookbooks up with two novels and a travelogue. For the enusing five seasons, I built a customer base at farmers markets addicted to my creation, Phenomenal Pumpkin Butter, until I packed up my sweatshop and headed to Norway.
My adventure carried me on to London, where I tried to break out of the market and into kitchens to get inspired and learn how to run my own bistro. The experience was the basis for the book Devouring London. Another change was inevitable, and I began to regularly grace national newspapers and magazines, including National Geographic Traveler, with my reports, interviews and photos.
Returning to my hometown Brno after twenty years, I surprised many people, but mainly myself. It allowed me to write articles about the local gastro scene and farmers in South Moravia. From there, it was just a step towards tour-guiding Brno. In my eclectic fashion, I combine the authentic essence of the city, architecture and flavours. You can usually find me with an eye glued to my SLR, a question or a crumb on my lip, and ears pricked for stories.
Some of my corporate clients include Philips, Whirlpool, Chiquita, Heinz or Danone.
